The newly ordered 73 electric Volvo buses are partly for city traffic in Örebro and partly for regional traffic in both Örebro and Västmanland counties. The order is substituting two previous orders from the Swedish operator for Dutch based manufacturer Ebusco for which both companies have been agreed. A third order for Ebusco remains. The order also include options for the delivery of additional buses from Volvo.
As a Dutch financial website report Ebusco made the cancellation by Svealandstrafiken public already in last December. The order now granted to Volvo consists of 13 articulated buses for city traffic and 60 buses for regional traffic and contains the option for the delivery of additional buses from Volvo. The buses are to be manufactured in Egypt by MCV on Volvo’s chassis. Ebusco keeps the order for delivery 23 electric Ebusco 3.0 buses for "Citylinjen" operation in Örebro and they will be delivered early 2026. The three orders from Svealandstrafiken are to replace part of the fleet for use in regional traffic in both Örebro County and Västmanland County.
