Freudenberg E-power Systems presents prototypes of an integrated modular battery pack and fuel cell for intensive use in buses and coaches, and others.
The battery pack was developed in cooperation with US heavy vehicle engine manufacturers. This battery pack is entirely made 'in house' by Freudenberg, which collaborates for this purpose with other partners from the group specialising in ventilation and airtight packaging. The production of this battery pack will begin in the summer of 2024 in the US. Meanwhile, everything is being set up so that the battery packs can also be manufactured in Europe from the end of 2024.
A second prototype on the Freudenberg stand is a fuel cell with a lifetime of up to 35,000 hours, which will be expanded in a heavy-duty vehicle in 2024. A start date for its production has not yet been set.
