Driver Safety Seminar

Tuesday 10 October 2023 between 2 and 5 PM

Public Transport Norway and Ruter, in cooperation with Busworld, invites the whole bus & coach industry to a comprehensive seminar on driver and traffic safety in Europe.

Bus & coach transportation is already the safest road transport means, but every accident, injury or casualty is still one too many. Many solutions already exist on the market, both in terms of reducing the risk of accidents, and reducing the consequences if an accident occurs. New and innovative technologies and safety measures are being developed by bus manufacturers as we speak, and will be presented at Busworld

The seminar will include the launch of a new academic research report on driver and traffic safety in European bus traffic prepared by The Institute of Transport Economics, with an overview of the current situation, systems and culture, as well as a catalogue of different measures and their estimated efficacy where available.

What can you expect?

Together we take a look at the current situation, what should/can be done, and how to move forward with the industry:

  • Launch of a new academic research report on bus safety and safety measures in Europe
  • Hear the bus driver’s perspective
  • Panel debate including various stakeholders in the field:
    • Operator
    • Bus/coach manufacturer
    • Bus/coach safety solution suppliers

The seminar is supported by Busworld and the Norwegian Ministry of Transport, and co-organised by The Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS), the Norwegian Logistics and Freight Association, The Employers’ Association Spekter, and the Norwegian Unions Yrkestrafikkforbundet, Fellesforbundet, Fagforbundet and Norsk Jernbanearbeiderforbund.

More details on the programme and registration information will follow soon.
