At Busworld MAN is launching several world premieres

25 September 2023

At Busworld MAN is launching several world premieres, the regional and city bus Lion's Intercity will come in a three-axle fourteen-metre version and the smallest of MAN's electric bus family will be shown to a wider audience for the first time. And the Lion's City 12 E will be on Busworld in a LE-version (low entry).

The electric city bus Lion's City 12 E is MAN's best-selling bus and will have its world premiere at Busworld in a low-entry version. So far Lion's City E has only been available with a consistently low floor. The low-entrance version has two steps leading up to the high-floor section behind the center door. The big advantage of the low-entry version is that all passengers in the rear can sit forward-facing and makes the bus more suitable for longer suburban routes. The capacity is up to 41 seated passengers and space for wheelchairs and strollers. The second world premiere is the MAN Lion’s Intercity LE 14, a three-axle 14.4 metres long bus with significantly more capacity, up to eight seats more than in the long two-axle model. The 9-litre six-cylinder MAN D1556 LOH engine is obtainable in two power output variants 330 hp (243 kW) and 360 hp (265 kW) with a maximum

torque of 1,400 Nm and 1,600 Nm respectively. The modern Common Rail injection system now operates with a pressure of 2,500 bar. The bus also can be equipped with MAN EfficientHybrid drive. The entire series has also been upgraded with a new electronic platform and digital cockpit. This bus has a capacity for up to 63 seats and a maximum passenger capacity of 127. The turning circle is 23.8 metres, thanks to steered and trailing axle. MAN will also be announcing that from model year 2025, a charging power of up to 375 kW will enable MAN eBuses to be recharged in just 60 minutes, the batteries of the solo bus charge to 80 percent of their capacity, and in 1.5 hours a full charge. On the articulated bus, it takes 2 hours to fully charge, and in 1.5 hours it is 80 percent charged. MAN is present in hall4, stand 401.
