VDL delivers 10 Futura to Kupers in the Netherlands

VDL delivered 10 VDL Futura to coach company Kupers in the Netherlands. As VDL Group the Dutch Kupers is a family businesses. Both companies have a decades long cooperation. VDL Bus & Coach regards this delivery as prove of signs showing the coach market is recovering. This is a positive development.

The VDL Futura's delivered to Kupers consists of 2 length variants: 8 Futura FHD2-129 with 53+1+1 seats and 2 Futura FHD2-139 of which one is equipped with 61+1+1 seats and the other with 57+1+1. the vehicles have the VDL Class 300 and 500 seats. Kupers also opted for a complete design including refrigerators, coffee facilities, LCD screens and a USB connection at every seat. Various safety systems have also been chosen to ensure the safety of both the passenger and the driver. The coaches are delivered just in time for the upcoming travel season. The relationship between Kupers and VDL goes back a long way, and over the years Kupers has invested in more than 350 VDL buses and coaches. for the tourism sector, we see light at the end of the tunnel," says Bert Fonteijn. Romers: "We see that the coach market is showing signs of recovery. This is a positive development. VDL Bus & Coach has recently restarted the production of coaches, allowing us to respond well to the needs and demands of the European market." Kupers was founded in 1931. After the war, in 1945, the company was restarted and towards the 1960s and 1970s Kupers started to focus on day trips and multi day coach holidays throughout Europe. Nowadays the company also is the preferred operator for football clubs such as PSV, Willem II, RKC and Fortuna Sittard. In recent years, Kupers has made several acquisitions like Litax Reizen, de Kruyff Touringcars and BBA Tours. All Dutch companies. Today, the fleet consists of over 85 units, all except a vintage convertible bus are equipped with Euro VI drivelines. The workforce is 250 employees.
