Bulgaria has welcomed its first two fully electric buses from Irizar e-mobility. They were officially handed over to the public transport company of the city of Burgas. The two buses and the charging infrastructure for them are part of one of the first and largest projects for electric mobility in Bulgaria.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov, NP Alejandro Polanco, Ambassador of Spain to Bulgaria, Roberto Ruiz, economic and trade adviser from the Spanish Association for Export and Investment, officials and citizens. The two buses are 12 m and 18 m long and are in the typical blue color of the transport operator. The project for electric mobility in Burgas consists of 34 single 12-meter buses and 10 articulated 18-meter vehicles, as well as 44 compatible chargers ECI-100 from Jema Energy, a company part of the Irizar group.

Irizar's zero-emission buses, in addition to providing a clean and quiet environment, have a modern and attractive design. The vehicles are low-floor and are accessible for wheelchair. The interior design feature innovative equipment and a range of solutions to improve the comfort and feel of travel for both passengers and the driver - such as the glazed side panels. "We are very proud to appear for the first time in Bulgaria with our own technology, produced in Europe - in this wonderful city and with this innovative and iconic project. In this way, Burgas joins Paris, London, Schaffhausen, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and a long list of cities with turnkey electromobility solutions from the Irizar group”, says Imanol Rego, CEO of Irizar e-mobility.
